I tosst a coin into a well,
Embarrassed, cheated,
But the blurry coinage
Resting there did tell,
‘Tis but custom repeated,
And no sincere pledge;
But, I did wish,
And wisht it come true,
For amongst koi fish,
Though we were warned not to,
Lies still my copper dream,
Corroding green and blue,
Amongst the many that do teem,
And none of them came true.
